New symptoms

As this pregnancy progresses, I'm not hit with any surprising symptoms per say, but some of the more expected ones have creeped up recently.  Such as:

Swollen ankles - Mind you I was coming off a 13-1/2 hour work day (yes, that's a whole other post that might take a few glasses of wine and a late night, so in a few months...?) I took off my boots, tore off my socks, and to my surprise I could literally make an indent of my finger in my ankle.  No joke.  If I pressed down on my ankle or slightly above with my thumb or whatever finger, it left an impression!!!  Ha!  No good.  Apparently I need to get up and move more during the day or elevate my feet.  If anyone has any ideas on HOW exactly to do that when you work a 13-1/2 hour day, please feel free to pass them my way.

Increased appetite - yeah baby!  I'm an eating machine!!!  I can't eat huge amounts at once but I'm always hungry.  But now I'm worried about gestational diabetes because I was around someone who had that and that sounds awful!  So do I avoid sugar?  What do I do to try and stave that off?  Oh well.  Until then (April 29 is my test) I'm eating whatever I want.

Feeling full - Some days are relatively comfortable (of course you're carrying ~15 more pounds then normal all of which are stored in 1, well 3, differing size bowling balls pasted precariously to the front of your body, but other than that), but other days are just, well, kind of NO FUN.  You feel like your baby is seriously out of room and you can feel your skin literally stretching.  I'm not sure where it comes from even now, let alone for the next 3-1/2 months, but wow those days when you can feel it almost trying to regenerate to give you growing room, not comfy.

Emotional/Hormonal/Freakin crazy person - yeah, that happens too.  Ask D :)  but of course, I refer back to the 13-1/2 hour work days I've been having on a regular basis which certainly aren't helpful.

Otherwise, the usual, sore knees, sore back, sore hips in the morning, wake up multiple times throughout the night, have to pee during the night, smell EVERYTHING way too strong, weird tastes, etc... yep, I've got em all :)  But honestly, this pregnancy thing hasn't been that hard.  Maybe because I thought it would be just awful, it's not as bad, but I'm not going to say I LOVE IT either.  I'm not sure how anyone loves it, and yeah, I'll probably miss it, I'm not saying that, but it's not something I love or will long for either.

All that said, I don't mind incubating my baby girl on a day to day basis, but it has caused me, especially recently to question and begin looking at quality of life, work to live not live to work, what I want to remember when I'm older, etc...  I'm sure there's more to come on that, but might take a few more late nights and a few bottles of wine (don't worry, in a few months) to figure that one out.

In the meantime, I'm going to spend my Sunday relaxing (I need it) and shopping for vineyards.  Yes, vineyards.  Wish me well.
